Australian values — citizenship practice (2026)

Part 4 covers Australian values such as freedom, respect, equality and a fair go. These questions are critical: you must answer all five values questions correctly to pass the official test.

What to study

  • Treat values questions as non-negotiable — one wrong values answer means you fail the official test.
  • Practise scenarios about equality, freedom of expression, and respect for others.
  • Read Part 4 of Our Common Bond carefully, then re-test until you score perfectly on values items.
  • Combine values drills with full timed mocks so you stay accurate under pressure.

Key facts to remember

  • You must correctly answer all 5 Australian values questions in the official test.
  • You also need at least 75% overall (15 of 20 correct).
  • Australian values include freedom of speech, respect, equality and democratic beliefs.
  • These questions sit alongside the other three Our Common Bond topic areas.
